An Action Approach to Educating Students in Poverty

Cost:  $22 Includes: Action Approach Guidebook, lunch, luncheon speaker, Dr. Maggie Morris Davis (University of Southern Indiana), and 7 PDHs.

 Description:  Utilizing the DVD, Be The Difference! An Action Approach to Educating Students in Poverty, by Dr. Amanda Beegle, participants will learn how to “improve outcomes for students who live in poverty.”  In addition, participants will begin to develop tools and an action plan to help their students.  Emphasis is on understanding poverty, its impact on education and strategies to increase an educator’s effectiveness as a mentor for students in poverty.  Dr. Davis will enrich our understanding during her luncheon presentation.
